Help the successful Arandu School Project teach more than 100 girls and boys yearly. Donate directly or buy an Airofit and pass on $50 from our pockets.

What started as a single dusty room and one teacher back in 2009 today is a school with several buildings, educated teachers, and schooling for more than 100 plus kids supported by Mirza Ali and his NGO, Pakistan Youth Outreach.

Ali is a professional mountaineer, filmmaker, public speaker, and promoter of outdoor education and adventure sports from the Hunza/Shimshal Valley in the Karakorum frontier of Pakistan.

After his Everest expedition for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment, he was the driving force behind the ‘7 Summits 7 Continents’ project. Mirza provides training and organizing trips for students of various schools, colleges, and universities in Pakistan. Including the one in Arandu.

The amazing project came to our attention through Michael Pfeiffer, a seasoned amateur mountaineer who is Ali’s friend and climbing partner.

“Prepared to tackle the most feared peak in the world? Learn how Michael Pfeiffer used RMT and hypoxia training in tandem to become stronger than ever on K2.”

During the 2021 Christmas break, Michael visited the village school to deliver solar panels, USP batteries, and other necessities, so the kids could charge their invaluable school laptops and keep learning.

Michael: “The village is very remote, tucked away at the end of the Chogo Lungma Glacier at 3200 meters in the Basha Valley, Shigir Baltistan. It has no electricity, and the people there has very little source of income. They work as porters during the short climbing season, though there are few expeditions each year. I’ve followed the project from its conception, and it is wonderful to see the school’s progress since Mirza set it in motion. It makes a difference for many kids, and I would be happy to see that project sustain and grow. That’s why I encourage people to support.”
